Lake L’ Homme Dieu Association is participating in the 1st Annual Douglas County Bowfishing Challenge on June 13th and 14th, which is organized by Sportsmen Clubs from Alexandria, Brandon, Evansville, Millerville, and Leaf Valley.

The objective is to remove 10,000 pounds of carp and other rough fish to be sold, with proceeds to support youth archery programs in the county.  They are hoping for 40 boats with 2-3 shooters in each, and participants can choose any Douglas County lake with a public landing.

Various Lake Associations, like ours, are providing volunteers, and contributing financial support to a special prize pool.  100% payback of registration fees to the top 5 boats with the most fish, and to the top 3 boats with the largest single fish.

The Adult Shoot will be Saturday night 8 to 10 pm, and the Kids Shoot will be Sunday morning.  There will be a registration and weigh-in at a central location – possibly the Douglas County Fairgrounds.  Volunteers and the Public are welcome!
