  • Water quality and clarity monitoring and water sample testing.
  • Treating and monitoring of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS), such as milfoil, curly leaf pond weed, and Zebra Mussels.
  • Support the monitoring of boat landings for prevention of the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS).
  • Providing privies and garbage receptacles at Rotary Beach (in partnership with Lake Carlos Association) and Kruger’s Creek landing.
  • Annual stocking of walleye fingerlings in partnership with the Viking Sportsmen Association.
  • Providing the marker buoys with lights at both public boat landings for the Douglas County Water Safety Office to install and remove seasonally.
  • Monitoring Carp levels.
  • Creating the Rain Garden at Rotary Beach and other beautification projects.
  • Successful lawsuit partnering with the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy (MCEA) against the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to force them to issue a more restrictive permit to Alexandria Lakes Area Sanitary District (ALASD) to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals, such as Phosphorus and Chloride, that they release into Lake Winona, and to downstream lakes such as Agnes, Henry, our own Lake L’ Homme Dieu.
  • Supporting other Chain of Lakes Associations with common issues such as road reconstruction, water quality and water safety.
  • Membership on the Douglas County Lake Association (DCLA).
  • Providing members with information via the Annual Newsletter, our Web Site (www.lakelhommedieu.org) with Board Member contact information, a gmail address (lakelhommedieuassoc@gmail.com) for questions, comments and feedback, and our Facebook page.
